David died Sunday, May 15, 2011 aqt Neilson Nursing Home in Bemidji. Cecil Cheek was his life partner for 36 years. He attended school in Alexandria and then worked on the iron range in Northern Minnesota. Dennis then returned to Alexandria and worked with his brother at the Bio Corporation. He was self-employed as a reptile collector. Deer hunting and fishing were among his favorite hobbies. Dennis died August 7, 1998 at the age of 50. Judy was born on July 17, 1949 in Holmes City, the daughter of Norman & Sylvia (Lokken) Hjelm. Judy was united in marriage on February 4, 1967 to LeRoy Wheeler and to this union were blessed with four children. Judy married Thomas Staseske on January 31, 2004 in Watertown. Judy worked in hotel management for 25 years in Alexandria and also provided daycare service in Watertown. She was a member of the Alexandria VFW Post Women's Auxillary. Loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, who brought life, love and laughter to all. WIth a zest for life like no other, she loved dancing, entertaining, camping, canoeing, and watching sunsets with her husband at her home on the river. She especially loved spending time with her grandkids goofing around and laughing. Judy also looked forward to the annual family reunion on Lake Moses and the friendly, yet competitive golf scramble each year before the reunion. She was known far and wide for her exuberant hugs, which will be missed by all. My wife, Marlene, went back to college after a 35-yea break and got her bachelor's degree in sociology in 2008. After searching for a job in her field with out success, we made a decision to "live life differently" and joined the Peace Corps. We have been in the mid-east, living in the Muslim country of Jordan, since October, 2009. We both teach at Mu'tah Universiy, near Karak. Marlene teaches work site dynamics, communication skills and English to classes and individuals. I co-teach a class about special education topics and help supervise students who are doing their practice teaching in resource rooms and centers. Jordan is a very interesting country ... lots of history and unique places to visit. The poeple are wonderful, too. Goals: Spend more time with family: travel more; write more Hubred, Vicky L [ Anderson ] Vicky Anderson was born on 9-9-1949, in Alexandria, MN to Jeul and Bernice Hubred. She attended school in Alexandria and was a 1967 graduate of Jefferson Senior High. Vicky was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Calvary Lutheran Church in Alexandria. Vicky was united in marriage to Richard Anderson on 12-9-67. The couple made their home in a variety of places including Minneapolis, Alexandria and rural Long Priarie. Mrs. Anderson spent several years as a teacher's aide in Osakis before taking some time to participate in the family farm. She later returned to Washington Elementary school and her favorite type of employment, working with children as a teacher's aide. Vicky was always involved in her own children's activities throughout their school days and after. She enjoyed working in very large vegetable and flower gardens, bird watching, card playing, socializing and baking goodies for the neighborhood. Mrs. Anderson died at the Osakis Community Memorial Home on 9-23-1999 with her family at her side. She is survived by her husband, Rich; three children: David and wife, Julie; Kristy and husband, Doug Enloe; Brian; sister: Lola Berg; brother: Gale Hubred; several nieces and nephews; special friends: Pam and Doug Sherman and many other good friends.
