Peterson, William G 02.05.08
The Daily Sentinel, Nacogdoches Texas March 19,2008
William G. "Willy" Peterson of Center, Texas, died February 5, 2008, in Chicago, IL, at the age of 59. He is survived by two sons, Eron Peterson of Elkhart, Texas, and Jalon Peterson of Chireno, Texas; one daughter, Kimberly Mitchell of Kyle, Texas; and eight grandchildren. Memorial service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Millard's Crossing Chapel.
Notes from a conversation I had with Willie's sister, Patricia, on August 1, 2009:
At the time of his death, Willie was living in Chicago with his childhood sweetie, Liz (her family would spend summers in Alex - they had reconnected after the death of Willie's mother in 1994) At the time of his death, Willie had been having trouble breathing. He also had a growth on his lung and was going back to Texas for treatment. The morning he was to start his drive down south, Liz found him collapsed on the floor - he died later that day of congestive heart failure. Patricia said that Willie was a great carpenter - had spent most of his years after graduation in Texas .... and until the end, called a bad day of fishing better than a good day at work.
