MacCoy, Bonnie [ Swarthout ]
Bonnie Rae Swarthout, age 51 was received into the presence of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on 1-2-2000 from her home in Ely after a long bout with multiple myeloma cancer. Bonnie is survived by her husband David; a son, Wayne of River Falls WI; three

Retired this last Spring (2003) after 35+ years in the nursery/greenhouse/garden center business. I accomplished everything I desiered to do in this field from grower to general manager. My last position was as store manager and perennial production manager for Payne's Nurseries and Greenhouses in Santa Fe. I intend to start a consultation business this spring regarding disease diagnosis/treatment of indoor and outdoor plants. I may try a website, we'll see. I am also finally satisfying an avocation which concerns my great love of animals and nature. I have been fostering dogs for our local humane shelter and hope soon to be doing some volunteer work with them as part of their public education outreach program. We go into local schools, state and county fairs, etc. to teach our children the value of animals and their proper care. I also rescue and find 'forever' homes for my favorite animals - turtles! At present I have 3 aquatic trutles (2 species) and 14 box trurtles (2 species) ranging in age from 6 weeks to 40 years old. GOALS: *Spend time on 'Topsail Island' volunteering for the seaturtle sanctuary program. *Write my book: 'You ain't from here, do you?' *Live out my life in Gold Beach, Oregon > overseeing my grandchildren grow into the wonderful people I know they will be. Comments: 'It is well with my soul, for I know my redeemer liveth'
