Thomas, Charles Weinberg, age 60, of Robbinsdale, formerly of Alexandria, passed away peacefuuly in his sleep on June 1, 2009 after a 4-1/2 year, intense battle with pancreatic cancer. Survived by loving wife of 31 years, Susan; son, Matthew; father, Earl; mother, Iona (Bob
McGrail); brothers, Mike, Bill, Bob (Cory) and Steve; sister, Patricia; and extended family including an uncle, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, friends and work colleagues. Tom graduated from Alexandria High School and Alexandria Vo-Tech (aviation electronics). He was employed by Carlson Companies and Gage Marketing (Director of Network Services) for 30+ years. Tom lived life to the fullest until the end. He enjoyed many years of sailing on Prior Lake and White Bear Lake, building computers, rides along the parkway system in his convertible, and flying R/C planes in recent years. Memorial gathering in celebration of Tom's life to be scheduled at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Msonic Cancer Center at the University of Minnesota for pancreatic cancer research, or the donor's choice.

James "Jim" Frank Welu, 60, of Springfield, MO., passed away at St. John's Hospital with family present on Monday, December 28, 2009. He was born April 16, 1949 in Riverside, CA., to Vincent and Irene Welu.
Jim served in the Navy as an electrical engineer. He was a dedicated serviceman who loved being aboard ship and visiting the countries around the world through his service. Jim retired from the Navy and returned to Springfield, MO. in 1993 to be closer to loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Irene Welu, his sister Marlene Welu and his brother Vincent Welu. He is survived by four daughters and son-in-laws. Laura CA Henderson of Preston, Kansas, Wendy and Christopher Brazeal of Springfield, MO., Teri and James Fortner of Springfield, MO., and Dana and J.R. Norris of Okinawa, Japan; three sisters, Sharon Eastman and husband Ted of Ivanhoe, MN., Cynthia Olson and husband Jeff of Bemidji, Pipestone, MN., and Ross Welu and wife Nancy of Newark, OH; 12 grandchildren and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Donna Whelan was born August 8, 1949, in Graceville, MN - the daugher of James and Theresa (Guenther) Whelan. Donna was raised in Alexandria, MN where she graduated from Jefferson High School in 1967.
Donna worked at various jobs following her schooling. She was a hard worker and she made a special effort to educate herself about the business world. She worked as a purchasing manager. In 2005, Donna retired from Empi, Inc., a medical supply company.
On March 14, 2009 Donna died at the age of fifty-nine years. She is survived by her husband, Donald Harker of Osakis; one daughter, Lorie Lessard and husband, Anderw, of Coon Rapids, MN; two grandchildren, Cory and Sara Lessard; three step-children, Rick Harker and wife, Lynn, of Plymouth, MN, Scott Harker of Cambridge, MN and Jill Anderson and husband, Steve, of Big Lake, MN: six step-grandchildren; three brothers, John Whelan and wife, Ann, of Richfield, MN, Jerome Whelan and wife, Nona, of Golden Valley, MN and Michael Whelan and wife, Elaine, of Lakeville, Mn; two sisters, Colleen Dierckes and husband, Robert, of Sauk Centre, MN and Pat
Kvanbek of Evansville, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 1:30 PM Friday, March 20, 2009 at St Mary's Church in Alexandria. Rev Fr. Steve Binsfeld officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Casket bearers include Rick Harker, Chris Whelan, Jeff Whelan, Cory Lessard, Scott Harker,
Greg Kvanbek and Brad Kvanek. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the church.
