Tom Lindsey Obituary Photo
Lindsey, Tom 08.09.2009
Thomas Gary Lindsey, 60, of Fergus Falls, was called to his heavenly home on August 9, 2009, surrounded by his loving children, Julianna and Josh, and his niece Randi. Thomas was born July 11, 1949, in Alexandria, the son of Lloyd "Buster" and Gayle (Olson) Lindsey. He was the oldest of five children. Tom graduated from Jefferson Senior High in 1967 and then enlisted in the Air Force serving as a military policeman in Panama and Germany. During most of Tom's adult life he was a hard working, dedicated over-the-road truck driver and drove many miles along side his dad, brother, Kenny, and good friend, Fred. The stories they could tell would keep you in stitches. Tom also worked as a truck dispatcher and safety officer. Tom's big heart also gave him the opportunity to work with people less fortunate than himself in a group home in Fergus Falls. Tom was so proud of his two children and would attend their sports events, piano recitals, and choir concerts, all that they were involved in. The three of them enjoyed going to the races in Alexandria, Fergus Falls and Fargo, with Tom even working at a couple of tracks. He had many special friends at the tracks. The best times were watching the Minnesota Twins where his kids knew every player; not only on that team but every team they played. He always teased his daughter about those "Yankees." Being that Tom was an Alexandria Cardinal and his son played hockey and football for the Otters, he would always ask his son for whom he should cheer. Tom is survived by his two children, Julianna and Joshua, of Fergus Falls; his dad Lloyd (Mary) of Alexandria; his brothers, Jerry (Terrie) of Eden Prairie, and Kenny of Garfield; his uncle Tom (Janet) Wyoming: and aunt Marge (Carlyn) of Alexandria; nieces, Randi (Jamie), Sara (Ryan) of Alexandria; Kelli of Eden Prairie; nephews Ryan and Shaun of Eden Prairie; his great nieces, Kaeley and Madelynn: and great nephews Cody and Kyler; many cousins and good friends. Tom was precede in death by his mother, Gayle; sister, Kathy; brother, Randy; uncle, Freddie; and his grandparents. Blessed be the memory of Thomas "Tommy" Lindsey. Services were held Friday, Aug 14 at First Baptist Church in Alexandria with the Rev.Darryl Knappen officiating. The Rev. David Strom, Katie Strom and Kylie Howe provided the music. Interment: Kinkead Cemetery. Casket bearers include Joshua Lindsey, Kenny Lindsey, Jerry Lindsey, Ryan Lindsey, Shaun Lindsey and Bruce Lindquist. Honorary casket bearers include Jeff Colton, Fred Mastellar, Ronny Krog, Kelli Lindsey, Randi Lindsey, Jamie Olson, Sara Lindsey and Ryan Augeson. American Legion Post 87 and VFW Post 936 provided military honors. Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria MN.
